Hello world! I haven't blogged in ages and I'm biding my time till 10pm so I can call Singapore! Anyway, I shall give  a brief update of my life so far.. Not sure if anyone will care to read this but oh well..

I'm in Canberra now.. and so far it's been pretty fun! I was sooo homesick the past few days but I've met some new friends and everything's getting better.  I went to an international students bbq and met new people!  Some from Frace, Holland, india, Venezuela etc and Singaporeans! yay! So now I hang out with Ankita, Kwan Ling and Ellise who are studying Econs, zoology and Acturial Studies respectively.

Well, who said Canberra is boring?!?! There's a big shooping mall in the city centre with shops like Target, Myers, Big W, Cotton on, Jay Jays, Jeans West, Portmans, Country road, Krispy Kreme, Hugo Boss Blah... the list continues.. it has the same stuff as melbourne and brisbane (I checked with gabrina!) So I won't be bored to death. There's evena cinema and a few asian restaurants! We have a lake nearby where we can walk and jog around and there are 2 factory outlets!! (whoohoo!!) My sis says it's comparable to the one in Melbourne ok!

Ankita wants to take salsa lessons and Ellise wants to take women's self defense so I might be joining both! We tried to recruit people to join salsa with us, like Antonio but we found out he's a Venezuelan who can't salsa!! The disappointment.. I've also been having spanish conversations with him like I can say random phrases like "yo quero taco bell" which I learnt from the taco bell ad in the states and it means "I want taco bell" and he'll just say "si" hahaha.. And I can sing La Bamba which is spanish right?? I want to joing scuba diving too but it's sooo ex. Will probo have to work before I can afford to go but no worries, jobs here pay around $26 per hour!  My friends are also planning to go to Sydney in our 2 weeks break in September! The bus ride there is only $15 anyway!

Anyway, life is pretty fun at the moment. i'm going shopping at the DFO tomorrow with the girls! Yay! hope I find nice boots! 




 

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY VERALYNE TAN HENG BING!

Today was totally LOL.
We were supposed to "surprise" vera with a treat at sushi tei but since those anal people wouldn't let us make reservations, we had to rush there at 6.30 to queue up. bleahhh. Anyway, we reached there at 6.50 and made reservations there and then and they told us we had to wait for 40 mins. WTH!!! Gay was going to meet vera at aljunied at 7pm and guide her to sushi tei later but she reached city hall at 7.09! SHIIITTT!
So we stalled. LOL.

We brought her to Ben and Jerry's and ate Triple scooped Chunky Monkey, Fish Food, Strawberry! Then since we're manly softballers we kinda ate very fast then shit.. it was only 7.23. stall stall stall. "OK vera, we are going to blindfold you with dii's shawl and lead you to your secret eating place" (Ties shawl and covers vera's eyes) "Okay, now we're going to spin you around so you get disoriented" Spin spin spin. HAHA.. Then we led her around and around the basement of raffles city. Then belle suggest going to Cocoa Tree to buy jelly beans and we proceed there.
Then belle asks vera (who is still blindfolded) to help pick out the sweets. lol. stall stall stalling. Gay and I decide to proceed to sushi tei to chase those idiots. Meanwhile, dii and vera handle a crisis!!! Apparently some ang moh dude went up to dii and asked "what are you doing to your friend?" Dii explains and then this (NOT CUTE) dude faces vera and syas in a freaky manner "oh in that case Hi I'm David Beckham" LOL. Omg.. freak.

HAHA. okay fast forward to dinner. We gave her her present (a box of pictures and 8 reasons why we love her) then gorged ourselves on foood!!!
(: Salmon sashimi, tempura, sushi, california hand rolls! Free flow of green tea! YAY! (: This is JAPAN PART I. then we chatted till 10.15 about stuff that we always talk about like prom, AFTER A'S JAPAN TRIP WHICH WILL TOTALLY ROCK! We're going to have a harajuku day out in tokyo where we wear pleated skirts and high socks. We're going to go to a BUTLERS CAFE! It's kind of like the maids cafe but with CUTE ANGMOH WAITERS who dress as butlers and serve you. I saw it on discovery travel and living and you can even take a picture with your fave butler! He'll carry you when you take the picture with him. (omg, I hope he can handle my fat ass) HAHAHA.. so looking forward to it.

And today belle said something that was really touching. i'm paraphrasing but "I realise we never run out of things to talk about. We can go on and on forever even if we talk about the same old things I never get bored" Aww.. and it's true. LOVE ALL OF YOU GIRLS (:

No matter how much life sucks, you know you can count on your friends. Reeeaaally close friends like these, and I feel lucky because I know some people haven't found such great friends yet and may never in this lifetime.

Naw..

I went to watch WE WILL ROCK YOU at the esplanade yesterday with my sis. In my opinion it was really GOOD! (: 
The seats weren't thaaat good as compared to those I sat in for Dim Sum Dollies even though they were twice the price!
Well, the story was about the future when creativity and freedom didn't exist anymore and rock had died, but there was a group of rebels called the "bohemians" who wanted to break free. The leader was some dreamer called Galileo Figaro and he had some babe called Scaramouche and they were supposed to break free from the suppression of creativity or something like that. Hard to explain the whole story but anyway, the singing by the Galileo dude was really good! (: The band esp the electric guitarist was like, off the hook!!! When they played "We are the champions" at the end, everyone was waving their hands in the air and the atmosphere was really..nice! Then the last song played was bohemian rhapsody but I'm not that fond of that song even though apparently it was Queen's most famous song. Then there was a standing ovation and everything. Oh, when they played "we will rock you" this grooving granny in front was like punching her fist in the air.. haha. Coolest granny I've ever seen!

I was having an interesting conversation on the phone just now with gab and we concluded we should live life to the fullest and try out everything! i don't want to be some average person living some average life so.. before we die we're going to..

1) go to prison
2) get a tattoo (i'm dead scared of needles)
3) sky dive (with hot instructor included.. if our parachute fails we'll still die happy)
4) date every single kind of guy there is out there (ie. emo, weirdo killer, preppy geek etc)
5) go on a double date with siamese twins! 
6) Smoke (just once)
7) Get a personal trainer and get hot bods!
8) then.. after getting hot bods, eat to our hearts content and become obese!

and.. haven't thought of the rest yet but there's more to come! HAHA. 
 WATCH OUT WORLD. HERE WE COME AND WE PACK A PUNCH!

Today I learnt that getting into LSE is just as hard as getting into Oxbridge. Minimum 3As just to do some normal course like business or something. Ohhh great.. and the fees plus living expenses are 35,000 pounds which is like 100,000 sing dollars a year?!

Truthfully, I don't know what to do with my life after JC. I kinda always had my life planned out for me.. Now that I have so many choices to choose from I'm just spoiled for choice. sigh.. This is depressing shit.. and I haven't even sat for the ultimate most major exam in my whole life!! A'levels! 5As?!?! Hopefully! Well, I totally know I'm gonna fail CTs.. double sigh..

I feel so.. urgh..

Life is downright depressing.

On a separate note, VJ vs TPJC for SRC tmr. I know we can do it girls.. mind over matter.

Seniors came back for results today. So happy for all those that did well! 

I've totally changed my mentality about softball. Trophy. Champs. Nothing less. I can't be both a failure at studies and softball. FEAR IS TEMPORARY. REGRET IS FOREVER.

So this is my first post of the new year and probably one of my last because well, now i blog very sporadically. Anyway.. I spent the last day of 2007 with the beloved c'div 04 at billy bombers at marina square.. And after everybody headed to their watchinight services, vera chay and I went to chill at one of the most hip and happening places in Singapore THE WORLD! You'll never guess where that is! Then we camwhored while ushering the new year. HAHAH. Then I came home to drink some bubbly with my mom and sis (dad and other sis in India) and play scrabble. I cannot believe it but MY MOM WON!! omg.. and I came in a close 2nd! My lawyer sister trailed us by like 50 points?! HAHA.. pai seh man! Now a few random pictures of the day.

I must say the years keep passing faster and faster. it seems like just yesterday I was attending vj's orientation but in just one day i'll be one of the ogls actually helping out in orientation. I truly hope it's fun for everyone! But oh my oh my.. where did my 2007 go?!? Let's see.. first half of the year was spent on softball..a disappointing result for that but it was really fun when not on the field. Then I struggled a lot with my work.. slept too much in class..stoned and didn't pay attention. Spent most of my days sleeping in lectures yada yada.. i should seriously improve on that!

This year I'm glad the five of us in vj grew a lot closer. I'm glad I made new friends in 07S37. I'm glad the brotherhood was formed. I'm glad I kept in touch with my old friends and met up with them in the hols. I'm glad the softballers/outhangers made studying less of a bore. But most of all.. I'm glad I made it through the year. Next year will be a whole lot tougher with higher expectations in many aspects. For one, my results have to improve drastically by leaps and bounds. no more sub-passing anything.. no more slacking and sleeping. For another.. We have to reign as A'div champions.. I know we can I know we can.

As for now..happy 2008 :)

I met up with leo CHEEEERI yesterday! (: The meeting was darn spontaneous but it was fun! It's been like years since we properly talked.. It must have been cos I was stuck in my own little geeky world of 4/2! So glad we finally met up!

I don't know what MJC has done to that girl. Someone so bitchy now! Heard lots of hilarious stories about some suicidal tk girl who wanted to jump off the building (tk's only 4 levels..what an idiot) but how mdm lenny (I would post a pic of her if I had one,but there wouldn't be enough space on the com screen anw) just sat on her to prevent her from doing so! HAHA. and Mr peh used a rope to tie her to a pillar?! or some funny thing like that.

Oh, we played BISHI BASHI!! (: super fun! The instructions were in Jap so we were quite frustrated and you know bishi bashi gets us all screamy and hyped up. Cheeri got so excited she was jumping here and there and since the tapz card was in her pocket, she somehow accidentally tapped it a few times and added 3 credits. Not like I was complaining.. bishi bashi rockZz mOi SocKz. nEhx.

Then, we played DDR!!! (dance dance revolution) So ah lian right. But.. I guess I was over ambitious and chose "standard level" when we're clearly not ah lian enough to be that good. So, our game lasted like.. 10 seconds then we just failed it! haha..

We passed by minitoons and saw some bottle thing which was filled with different coloured sticks which had different meanings. Some fortune telling thing. So you ask it a question, pull out a stick, see the colour and see what it means. Then we asked some random questions which I will not type here because it's embarrassing.. but the answers the magic bottle gave were positive!

I just love meeting up with old friends. It really makes me happy even though the meetings are quite infrequent. Which is why I try to treasure every moment! Met up with zara on sat and we caught up too! Wow.. zara could be my soulmate. (soulmates don't have to be opp gender right?) Whatever. It was nice too (:

 hmm.. training today, tmr, friday.. even trained on mon. Trainings..suck. As dii put it, we have achieved nirvana. Not sure how to feel about it.

I'm like too lazy to blog about today's happenings. In short it was fun! (: No training cos coach isn't back from...? So we all ended up going to tk ( I was late! haha) and sitting around because the *insert word of the day* sec3s didn't inform us coach cancelled the training!!!! Blah blah..

So I went to orachard with vera! She purchased maroon/red pumps (I have them in black!) and I finally got my damn high green heels (: (crease crease) HAHA.. So today was funny, random, blah blah. vera say NO!

So, another week of my "vacation" has passed. It was a pretty good week I must say. It was spent mostly with mornings at the library with the softballers ie. vera and belle.. followed by shopping trips to vivo and orchard! I'm dead broke now. This week alone, I bought a bag, a pair of pumps, slippers, 2 cardigans, a top and 5 essential undergarments amounting to $200++?? And I've been eating carl's junior and subway etc.. Yes, people like me sustain Singapore's food industry.  Met up with chay on wed! (: When's c'div outing?!

Anyway, today, there was the 2nd IGOR outing to bugis and then settlers at clarke quay. The settlers was quite fun! TABOOOO!!! (:

We were bored,
It was super funny though! We were like "WHAT THE HELL" here and there and the usual guy talk but we kept vulgarities to a minimum. We actually looked A LOT better than a lot of guys in town. Like, seriously. GUYS, BE ASHAMED! Oh, and we borrowed gareths clothes. Gab couldn't fit into his berms so she had to leave it unzipped, while I wore her dad's golfing shorts!hahah.. 

If you can't get one, be one! HAHAHA

Alright, I haven't blogged for quite awhile because I'm sianzz.. nothing much to update on. So... I am about to embark on a rambling session like I always do. Please refrain from reading if you do not want to be bored by my average mundane life.

So here I am sitting on my bed stoning in front of my com while appearing offline because well, I don't really like talking to people online. Anyway, today I had oral presentation which was alright I suppose (besides the video choosing to screw up during the actual op when it worked fine during all the other rehearsals, and Q&A quite sucked). So yeah, it's over. Whatever. I don't think I deserve an A cos I didn't exactly contribute a whole lot ( due to irritating group leader who was so anal about everything and chose to delete whatever I did anyway)

So after op, we went to eat katong laksa! Then we went to katong mall and sat on the floor to play a round of cluedo where ching and I got eliminated very very early in the game :( And surprisingly soonyang won when it was his first time playing. Then when everyone went off to kbox (I don't sing cheena songs!) I went to pp to kinda chill with the brothers and then soonyang and jingren and I all went for training. Hmm.. sounds eventful so far :/

Training today was.. okay. Better than yesterday at least. i'm glad to say my distancing is improving!! YAY! ( I still hate distancing though) But pitching to catcher was still quite terrible.

Yesterday we went to Ikea which was really fun in my opinion because I just adore all those home decor stuff! Ahh.. so nice! These are one of the rare things I swoon over! I love stationary shopping, grocery shopping, furniture shopping and obviously clothes shopping! I just looooove loooking at all the nice furniture that I know I will never own and never see my house furnished with. COLOURFUL CUTLERY IS THE WAY TO GO. BEER MUGS ARE COOL. Gay's oven mitts were so.. aunty. haha. Then there was this free shuttle bus that would bring us from tampines mrt station to ikea. It was this normal smrt bus and instead of flashind the bus number at the top it just read GIANT, IKEA, COURTS.

hahaha. Then we boarded the bus and I tapped my ez-link on the ez-link tapper and heard a beeep beeep (duh, because it's a FREE shuttle bus, so you don't have to tap it) And belle just dumbly follows.  so it's like beeeeep beeeep too. a fool following the idiot is a bigger idiot.

So.. this concludes my booooring week of pw and training.

 

Today's training was like.. OUCH. Surprisingly, we managed to hobble around the field to catch balls and do drills but it hurt like crap. I'm sure we will all agree that coach Uly's physical training on monday was a killer! That bad bad sadistic man!!! I think Dii and I had it the worst though because on top of all that physical training, he made us do medicine balls and stuff while coach was having one of those long talks with the rest. Urgh.. I feel like the hulk.. my muscles are growing bigger.. and bigger!! Oh and deedeenah surprised us by dropping by tk (: miss you!

Anyway, yesterday we celebrated Gay's belated birthday at Seoul Garden located at Taka. It was really fun bbq-ing all that chicken and having a mini steamboat to play with! So yeah, my diet has just gone down the drain! ): Whatever. It felt as though we were 20 years old and having one of those girlie reunions which we'd better have in the future! I love the softballers :)))
We were acting all glamourous and princessy.. or we attempted to but failed terribly. For one, softballers are almost NEVER glam! Haha.. we're retarded. There was this one time after we talked about love handles (you know, the fat that accumulates near your hips) when diane wanted to ask where the ladle was but said "where's the handle" instead and gay said "on your hips" HAHA. Don't know if you get it but it was DAMN FUNNY!!

Today was VJC open house and it was fun!  I mean.. okay, the softball booth was quite bare and consisted of a bunch of ppl slacking at 3 tables but.. we walked around and tried out everything!  We played table tennis, baddy, pitched and threw a bit, went to the rifle range and shot some paper thing, watched the performance at the pt, roamed around school a bit, went on the flying fox , fenced with Jingcheng and Jastine a bit and.. MASS DANCED! :]  yes, so we were pretty much everywhere else but the softball booth!  Oh well, we and the rest of the sports CCAs DSAed whoever we wanted already so yeah, not much point in advertising our cca right!?  Dahlia foo, if you ever read this.. you should switch off your com NOW and go STUDY because you are COMING TO VJ TO PLAY SOFTBALL. please get 8 points!!  We've ordered your visor already!!! :/

Dii and I rushed (kinda rushed) to cell group afterwards.  Then we went to pp for dinner.  Guess what, we've found a new Ken doll to dress up!! HAHA.  We were at esprit shoving clothes at noel to try on!! So exciting!! "This is probably the only time you'll have so many women fussing over you so you'd better treasure it"  There was this really nice tartan long sleeved shirt plus black cardiganish sweater combo that was great!  it totally exuded that "I'm preppy yet too cool to care" look.  Nice!  I love shopping even if it's for other people!!! (:

Today was a great day spent with the beloved softballers at the zoo.

It was really fun walking around and asking people to take pics for us and acting like tourists!
Picnic was yummy.. vera's mom's beehoon is nice and un-oily!  belle's "porridge" egg sandwiches weren't too bad.  Dii's betty crocker muffins were sumptuous, gay's salad with oriental dressing was great.. and my green tean and lemon tea was the thirst quencher okay.  No picnic can go without drinks so i maintain my contribution was of great importance! (:
